First event of the “Meet my culture” cycle

On Wednesday, 8th of November 2023, in the hall of the 1st floor of the L building of the University of Bielsko-Biala, the first event of the “Meet my culture” cycle will be taking place.

The cycle aims to make its participants familiar with the different cultures, people of which are present at our university. The opening meeting will present the Polish culture, particularly that of our region.

The meeting will be opened on 8th of November 2023, at 11 o’clock, with a speech by dr hab. niż. Tomasz Knefel, prof. UBB, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education. Then, dr Dagmara Mika will present the project “Internationalisation begins at house”. Next presentations will cover subjects of typical and atypical elements of the Polish culture, stereotypes on Poland and Polish people, display of regional clothing, music and dances of Żywiec region, notion of “Podbeskidzie” as a culture space, and Polish cuisine – with a degustation. Ending of the event is planned at 14 o’clock.

The “Meet my culture” workshops are held within the framework of the Project “Internationalisation begins at home”, co-financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange within the framework of the “Welcome to Poland” Programme (2022).
